Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most highly anticipated Hindu celebrations of the year. Ganesh Chaturti is a ten-day festival commemorating Ganesha's birth as the elephant-headed god. Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati have a son, Ganesha, who is the god of intelligence and prosperity. This holiday is marked by a lot of hooplas, excitement, and delicious cuisine.

Ganesh Chaturthi is held on the 4th day of Shukla Paksha, or the luminous period of the full moon, in the month of Bhadrapada. Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated this year on Friday, September 10, 2021. On this day, the puja Muhurat for Ganesha Puja is somewhere between 11:03 a.m. and 01:33 p.m.

Clean the house and make sure it is neat and ordered before Ganesh Chaturthi arrives. Early in the morning on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, take a holy bath. The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is a joyous and important celebration. All family members must share tasks and do the puja collectively in order to receive his blessings.

Getting the Ganesh Idol

There are three techniques to organising Lord Ganesh's puja. Some folks use an image, picture, or idol that they already have in their puja room to perform their rituals. You can even construct an idol with the help of your family members using clay or turmeric. Ganesh idols (murtis) or new images can be purchased from shops and pandals. This is the most commonly used option in most houses. Every year, people go on a search for a new idol to utilise during the ten-day festival for prayers and rituals.

Ganesh Puja

Gingelly or coconut oil can be used to light a lamp. Gather the family members in front of the altar and light incense sticks

Holy water can be used to bathe the idol (if the material of the idol is suitable to permit the water).Rose water, sandal paste, coconut water, honey, panchamrit, and other things can be used. After the holy bath, wipe the statue with a clean cloth. Sandal paste, vermilion, clothes, decorations, flowers, and garlands should all be used to decorate Ganesh's picture.
